MM Meggiolaro, based in Montorso Vicentino, area of Arzignano leather tanning district, used Simac Tanning Tech to debut its updated leather laying and straightening system, featuring a major new enhancement

The latest innovation from MM Meggiolaro, showcased at the 2025 edition of Simac Tanning Tech, is called the EVO Stacker. This machine represents a significant upgrade for the stacker designed and manufactured by the Montorso Vicentino company. MM Meggiolaro specializes in producing and selling various equipment, including stackers, lifting platforms, horses, and conveyors, for tanneries, with applications also extending to the food, fishing/agribusiness, textile, metallurgy, construction, and other industrial sectors.
““We named it EVO Stacker.” confirmed siblings Daniele and Michela Meggiolaro, the company’s principals, who represent the second generation of the family business founded in 1969 by their father Sergio and uncle Giovanni, speaking from their booth. “It marks a substantial evolution over previous years. The system straightens and widens the leathers while they are in motion, leading to optimal final alignment, eliminating even minor creases, and ensuring both quality and perfection for the finished leathers. This machine is our flagship product, what we like to call our ‘workhorse.’ It has been subject to continuous refinement, backed by significant investment in Research & Development, an area we constantly seek to expand to launch new projects.”
“As is typical in these situations,” they added, “the EVO Stacker was developed in response to a direct market demand. We are primarily a smaller operation that focuses on customized production and providing attentive customer support. At the Fair, we displayed the 3400 model, the largest in the series. It maintains rapid processing times while ensuring high-level hourly output. Our product line includes smaller dimensions to meet specific client needs, with versions ranging from 3100 down to 1800. Furthermore, it can be manufactured in painted carbon steel, entirely in stainless steel, or in painted steel with some stainless steel parts, always based on the client’s detailed requirements.”
“At Simac Tanning Tech, which is confirmed as one of the world’s most important tanning machinery shows, we met with many customers as well as several agents, both from South America and Europe. There are encouraging signs of recovery in Europe, as well as Asia also appears to be growing slightly. We recently opened a “chink” in the Australian market, with the hope of good future potential. Something positive can also be seen in the Italian districts: we know Arzignano well since it is part of the reality in which we live, but also the Tuscan district of Santa Croce sull’Arno is slowly recovering. It is not an easy time for the tanning sector in general, but we always look ahead with confidence. Working well to meet requests and performing maintenance work in a timely manner is the right way to build customer loyalty.”

The past 12 months also brought another significant development for MM Meggiolaro. “In late 2024,” Michela and Daniele concluded, “we inaugurated our second facility in Montorso, which boosts the efficiency of our operations: the original, historic building, spanning 1,000 covered square meters, houses our mechanical production. Meanwhile, the second facility, also approximately 1,000 square meters, now accommodates our office building and is dedicated to the assembly phases. We also have an extensive yard used for loading and unloading goods and machinery, with access via the new entrance on Via Luigi Da Porto, which is much more convenient and accessible, even for heavy vehicles. Additionally, in the same town and close to the two main facilities, we maintain a third site, covering two floors and about 1,500 square meters, used exclusively for warehousing. With a total of 3,500 square meters, we are well-equipped to meet a wide range of needs and operate under optimal conditions.”
